    El Arenal

    Jávea, also often written in Valencian Xàbia, is an authentic fishing village located in Spain on the Costa Blanca at the most eastern point of the Iberian Peninsula, opposite Ibiza, between Denia and Moraira, about an hour's drive from the airports of Alicante and or Valencia. Jávea is a vast hilly coastal area with spacious residential areas where holiday homes, villas with private pool and rental apartments are widely spread.

    In addition to its unique location on the Costa Blanca and its typical Spanish charm, Jávea is a village that, thanks to the municipal policy, also remains a village. No high-rise buildings, no mass tourism, but pure authenticity. In Javea, the local population has found a good balance between tourism and their own well-being. In short, Jávea is a place where people live and yet others spend their holidays, who love privacy but also love conviviality and want to avoid the masses.

    General Information Jávea

    The history of Jávea or Xabia (in Valencian), goes back many centuries. The first evidence of the occupation of the area are even 16,000 years old and can be found in the caves of the imposing Montgó mountain in the form of mural drawings. Jávea is divided into three different areas, the old village (El Pueblo), the port (El Puerto) and the area around the sandy beach of Jávea (El Arenal) where most holiday homes can be found. Jávea hasn't changed much in the past centuries and one can still find traditionally built houses around typical Spanish squares.

    The port of Jávea was built in 1871 and the trade was mainly in raisins. After the collapse of this market, the once large port fell into a small fishing port. Later, thanks to increasing tourism, this port was extended to include a marina.

    Beaches of Jávea

    El Arenal (the sandy beach) is the promenade of Jávea. Here you will find many restaurants, cozy bars, shops and some clubs that stay open until the early hours. There are playgrounds for children, volleyball nets and you can rent jet skis and boats. But let's not forget the many other beaches of Jávea: El Pope, Ambolo, La Granadella, Muntanyar and Cala la Sardina.

    The smaller beaches of Jávea consist mainly of pebble and rocky beaches. The beaches of La Grava and Cala Blanca are ideal for practicing water sports such as jet skiing, windsurfing and canoeing. The small bays of Portitxol and Tangó are pebble beaches that are ideal for snorkeling and diving.
